TERESA JAVUREK
We have known Lukasz Filipczak for thirteen years; our daughter Lucy was six years old when we hired him to be her piano teacher, a position he retained until Lucy gained a place at the Royal College of Music Junior Department at the age of 13. Lukasz prepared Lucy for her Grade 7 and 8 ABRSM exams; as well as giving her an extensive final lesson before her recent ABRSM Performance Diploma in July 2022; Lucy achieved Distinctions in all of these exams.
What has most impressed us about Lukasz's teaching is his total dedication to our daughter as a student. His teaching, grounded in developing Lucy's technique and musicality, has been the foundation of all Lucy's achievements and her own lasting love of music. He has demanded discipline without ever sacrificing passion and a sense of confidence and fun. His teaching style was focused and energetic but also relaxed and engaging. Lukasz also always organized regular performance opportunities: concerts involving all of his young students, attended by parents and friends with receptions to follow and an exciting pleasure and sense of accomplishment for everyone. Music has brought so many priceless benefits to our daughter's life; it has trained her mind, uplifted her spirit and created friendships and community. This is all very much the legacy of her eight years as Lukasz’s young student.
